History

The Longvie Company was founded in 1918 by Mr. Raul F. Zimmermann, who designed the first Electric Water Heater in Argentina and South America. He also designed the corresponding thermostat as he did not find one worldwide that suited the required standards.


Once the product was developed, he organized production, sales and marketing of the product, under the LONGVIE brand.

Surely, he did not imagine then, that his family would continue with his dream, turning the LONGVIE trade mark in one of the main leaders in the household appliances Argentine market, with three manufacturing facilities and seven lines of products.

The Company philosophy as from its beginning to our days is based on creative group work, adding our customers and suppliers experience to achieve first line products.

Ninety years have gone by since the foundation of the Company and it has had to adapt itself to innumerous technological changes in industrial sectors as well as market tendencies, always having in mind that product developments have to continue offering better living standards for customers.


Longvie

With an expanding market share, in 1969 the company moved to one of the existing plants, Villa Martelli - Buenos Aires, actually restructured it is manufacturing 100,000 units per year with a production capacity of 150,000 units. There are 350 people working in these facilities nowadays.

A second industrial plant was built in 1978 in the city of Paraná aimed at the production of water heaters and room heaters. There are 200 employees, and a continuously expanding production of 60,000 units per year.

In 1988, Longvie built a third plant in the Province of Catamarca for manufacturing automatic washing and wash dryer machines, with 90 employees.

Today, Longvie exports to several countries within the Mercosur (Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) as well as a number of other countries in South America, Canada and the USA. Exports to Eastern and Western European countries are increasing every year with attractive opportunities for the near future.

Growing opportunities in the domestic markets and in exports to other markets with extremely high quality standards clearly reflect a solid family company that has enjoyed a great respect, generation after generation, for quality and excellence, always following the founders' spirit of high standard of quality, as well as respect for costumers and its people.
